Abstract

Peace serves as the backbone for the growth and development of any society. Islam places great importance on maintaining peace, and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ took significant measures to achieve it. As mentioned in the Holy Quran, peace is one of Allah's greatest blessings. Maintaining peace is a part of Sharia objectives because it ensures the people's interests. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ implemented two types of measures for establishing peace:

Moral Education Initiatives:

  • He prohibited actions that disrupt peace, such as murder, violence, theft and greed, etc.
  • He encouraged peaceful actions, such as maintaining family ties and practicing forgiveness.
  • He took several measures to end family differences, discouraged class divisions and nationalism, eliminated religious extremism, and mediated between conflicting groups.

Administrative Measures:

  • He strictly curtailed wars and violence.
  • When necessary, he engaged in jihad to establish peace.
  • He ensured justice and fairness and eliminated economic inequality.

Due to these efforts, complete peace was established in Medina. This article likely examines both moral and administrative strategies He employed to foster a peaceful environment, highlighting the significance of his actions in historical and contemporary contexts.
